What would LinkedIn look like if members could only share original content they created?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
We can share only content we've created, or licensed. Check the Terms of
Service at the bottom of any page. LI is published from a US address,
so all use falls under US copyright law. And there's a Trust&Safety
team to which abuse of all kinds should be reported.
But what pictures do we get to share other than our avatars and the odd blog illo?
Thank you for commenting Barbara I am not a lawyer so I am not familiar
with public domain or fair use but I am referring to everything
including pictures of public figures and motivational quotes memes. If
you did not create it or think of it should you be able to share it?
I personally think you should. Sharing thoughts is a form of education and should not be censored by outside parties.
Barbara, remember...we are International, and what you just wrote may
differ, outside the States.. I am in Caanda, and when I read the new
Terms of Service it refers to Linkedin.....IN IRELAND and that is who we
contact.
"your agreement is with LinkedIn Corporation and if you reside outside
of the United States, your agreement is with LinkedIn Ireland (each,
“LinkedIn” or “we”).
"When you share information, others can see, COPY and USE that information."
"You own all of the content, feedback, and personal information you
provide to us, but you also grant us a non-exclusive license to it.
We'll honor the choices you make about who gets to see your information and content.
YOU PROMISE TO ONLY PROVIDE INFORMATION AND CONTENT THAT YOU HAVE THE
RIGHT TO SHARE., and that your LinkedIn profile will be truthful."
We are supposed to be using an actual photograph of only ourselves, (not
our dog or our digital art Avatar or an image that is in darkness,or
side profile that barely shows the face.
We may only have one Linkedin account. One of my 50 groups reported a
man, gave his very unusual name and said he was a fraud, beware. There
were 6 with that exact very unusual name.
I sat so merry in my abode
Loving hands around me
I dreamt of such glorious days
One day i would see
I remember the day I left
My room
I closed the door behind me
One quick look again
Then walked away
The room which would always remind me
The glorious days I had dreamt
I did merrily spent
How little did I then know
Life turns on a dime
My room is now not as it was
When I closed the door
Behind me
My room now is a prison
But not how one would invision
It is one of sorrow and grief
Sadness burns into the bare walls
I catch my breath
And weep
Why did thou'st doth betray?
The room which once embraced me
I ask with riddled heart
Jagged and torn
Which wicked riddles have I thus sought?
I sit still
I am now my room
No dreams as once before
I age before my open door
In my room long ago
I sat merrily in my loving abode
Loving hands did hold me
All gone
My room and myself
Now one
Two thrust to be together
Forever
Alone
