Nina Norstrom
As a pioneer, Nina has won many titles ─ sister, mother, wife, caregiver, teacher, author, volunteer, and wounded warrior, among others. Those mentionable items are the glue that holds her together. It took years of conquering, struggling, battling inside demons, and overcoming many obstacles before she found solace. Norstrom is an award-winning author of, “Not a Blueprint It's the Shoe Prints that Matter” and “Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall . . . Where Does My Self-Love Fall?.” It is through her literary creations she has empowered and enlightened others on wellness lifestyles. Norstrom has explored and unmasked the many faces of relationships (e.g., war with depression, war with trauma, war with grief, and others). In battling her demons, she says, “I have come to the realization that life is full of stuff (the good, the bad, and the ugliness). After defeating those “demons of war,” she came through that battlefield as a wounded warrior, a survivor, and with a renewing of the mind. Toxicity once controlled her. Now, stronger than ever . . . She is controlling toxicity! No photos, please, her famous phrase! And (perhaps) why her facial image isn't on social media. While growing and blossoming, she's free of the drama life brings. In this transition, she sees herself as that blooming, rich flower waiting to attract those butterflies. There she's come full circle! These days, she's conducting workshops on wellness lifestyles. When asked, What qualifies you to speak on the topic? She replies, My decade of experiences. Her work is recognized inside the Georgia State Transitional Center (men's prison), among other associations. Presently, Norstrom is working on another publication. And looking to start a 5013(c) foundation. As a speaker and wellness coach with years of educational experience, her work is recognized at the Georgia State Transitional Center(s), Bereavement Parents of the USA (i.e., BPUSA). Health and Wellness Fairs, among other institutions, where she conducts workshops as an educational speaker. A Life Improved Is a Life Renewed!

In my Room long ago
I sat so merry in my abode
Loving hands around me
I dreamt of such glorious days
One day i would see

I remember the day I left
My room
I closed the door behind me
One quick look again
Then walked away
The room which would always remind me

The glorious days I had dreamt
I did merrily spent
How little did I then know
Life turns on a dime
My room is now not as it was
When I closed the door
Behind me

My room now is a prison
But not how one would invision
It is one of sorrow and grief
Sadness burns into the bare walls
I catch my breath
And weep

Why did thou'st doth betray?
The room which once embraced me
I ask with riddled heart
Jagged and torn
Which wicked riddles have I thus sought?

I sit still
I am now my room
No dreams as once before
I age before my open door

In my room long ago
I sat merrily in my loving abode
Loving hands did hold me
All gone

My room and myself
Now one
Two thrust to be together
Forever
Alone
