Oltobooks : Tell us a little about yourself and your background?
Tamikio Dooley : Hi! I’m Tamikio L. Dooley, the award- winning author. I write fiction and nonfiction of crime, thriller, mystery, fantasy, historical romance and western, apocalypse, and paranormal. In my spare time, I write poetry, health books, children’s books, diaries, and journals. I received certificates for featuring my short stories published in Ukiyoto Publishing’s Anthologies, and received an honorable recognition as the best crime author of September 2016. I also won my first crystal trophy award.
Oltobooks : What are your ambitions for your writing career?
Tamikio Dooley : My ambitions for my writing career is to become an best-selling author, and win two more awards. Other ambitions include, progressing as an excellent writer, researching nonfiction writing focus, and scheduling books singings.
Oltobooks : When did you decide to become a writer?
Tamikio Dooley : I've had the passion for writing and have been since 16-years-old. I started writing for the public audience in January 2015.
Oltobooks : Why do you write?
Tamikio Dooley : I write because I love expressing my creative nature and dreams in words. I want readers to develop the same imagination, so we can travel together. Sometimes, I want to escape the bad things of the world, I want to escape reality. I'm obsessed with reading and collection books. Reading helps me escape from reality, pulling me inside the author's world.
Oltobooks : What made you decide to sit down and actually start something?
Tamikio Dooley : Interacting with friends, family, and associates on social media, such as Facebook, sparked my passion for writing to the world.
Oltobooks : Where do your ideas come from?
Tamikio Dooley : My ideas comes from dreams, mostly. Also, reading books from favorite authors, and watching movies, helps me gather information to start my writing. In fact, Dawn of the Walkers, my initial zombie apocalypse book was written from a dream I had one night. The dream encouraged me to write my first zombie apocalypse book, and Dawn of the Walkers became my bestsellers.
Oltobooks : What is the hardest thing about writing?
Tamikio Dooley : The thing about writing, in my case, is running out of ideas for a new book at the moment. My imagination is constantly on full blast, so mainly, I always something to write about.
Oltobooks : What is the easiest thing about writing?
Tamikio Dooley : The easiest thing about reading to me is I have the ability to write multi-genre. I can write about anything, fiction or nonfiction, and I can finish a book in a month or less, depending on how deep the writing takes me.
Oltobooks : If this book is part of a series, tell us a little about it?
Tamikio Dooley : Dawn of the Walkers, indeed, is the first books in the first series, The Warhead Hunters: The Zombie Apocalypse Decimation Series. I'm proud to say, each book is better written than the last book.
Oltobooks : What are your thoughts on writing a book series?
Tamikio Dooley : My thought on writing a book series is to keep the story going, if the story is worth it. I wrote some books I felt shouldn't be part of a series and should remain independent books. For me, writing book series creates personal relationships between characters and readers. It's like a 'love and hate, or love or hate' type of thing readers develop with certain characters.
Oltobooks : What is your favourite positive saying?
Tamikio Dooley : My favorite positive saying is 'Always research your writing, whether its fiction or nonfiction, with well-determined facts. Facts in fiction makes the story further believable and enjoyable!
Oltobooks : Where can you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
Tamikio Dooley : In five-five years or less, I see myself as a best-selling author, with more than two awards. I will have the opportunity to schedule my first book signing in Michigan soon.
Oltobooks : What advice would you give to your younger self?
Tamikio Dooley : Advice I would give my younger self, I wish had followed up on my dreams to become a writer sooner. I have meet my goals and beyound.

In my Room long ago
I sat so merry in my abode
Loving hands around me
I dreamt of such glorious days
One day i would see

I remember the day I left
My room
I closed the door behind me
One quick look again
Then walked away
The room which would always remind me

The glorious days I had dreamt
I did merrily spent
How little did I then know
Life turns on a dime
My room is now not as it was
When I closed the door
Behind me

My room now is a prison
But not how one would invision
It is one of sorrow and grief
Sadness burns into the bare walls
I catch my breath
And weep

Why did thou'st doth betray?
The room which once embraced me
I ask with riddled heart
Jagged and torn
Which wicked riddles have I thus sought?

I sit still
I am now my room
No dreams as once before
I age before my open door

In my room long ago
I sat merrily in my loving abode
Loving hands did hold me
All gone

My room and myself
Now one
Two thrust to be together
Forever
Alone
