Interview with Francis H Powell
Hi Francis H Powell, thank you for agreeing to this interview.
Oltobooks : Tell us a little about yourself and your background?
Francis H Powell : I come from the UK.I was born in Reading, I was an art student.I presently live in Brittany, in France. My first published book was called Flight of Destiny. My most recent published book, is called Adventures of Death, Reincarnation and Annihilation.
Oltobooks : What are your ambitions for your writing career?
Francis H Powell : I simply would love as many possible readers to read my books.
Oltobooks : When did you decide to become a writer?
Francis H Powell : I started writing a book while living in a small remote town in Austria, I had no idea really as to how to go about writing a book, my efforts were abysmal. Later I started writing short stories in Paris and my works started to take off and I acquired a style.
Oltobooks : Why do you write?
Francis H Powell : I love words. I love language. I need to express myself.
Oltobooks : What made you decide to sit down and actually start something?
Francis H Powell : It could be many reasons, perhaps anger, perhaps something deep down I need to express.
Oltobooks : Where do your ideas come from?
Francis H Powell : The could be long term fears and anxieties. Ideas can pop into my head at any time, on a bus or on a train.
Oltobooks : What is the hardest thing about writing?
Francis H Powell : Any kinds of blocks, when you can't take a story forward.
Oltobooks : What is the easiest thing about writing?
Francis H Powell : When sentences flow naturally into your head.
Oltobooks : If this book is part of a series, tell us a little about it?
Francis H Powell : Not really. However I might write more stories concerning death, so who knows.
Oltobooks : What are your thoughts on writing a book series?
Francis H Powell : I would like to get my work out there.
Oltobooks : What is your favourite positive saying?
Francis H Powell : Go for it, don't hold back!
Oltobooks : Where can you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
Francis H Powell : I would to have more books published, covering different subjects and in different styles. I would like to be more recognized as a writer. My dream would be to have my stories made into a film or TV series.
Oltobooks : What advice would you give to your younger self?
Francis H Powell : Work at your craft, find your style. Find a genre that works for you.

Which wicked riddles have I thus sought?
I sit still
I am now my room
No dreams as once before
I age before my open door
In my room long ago
I sat merrily in my loving abode

My room and myself
