Hi Dove Daniels, thank you for agreeing to this interview.
Oltobooks : Tell us a little about yourself and your background?
Dove Daniels : I'm an educator, mother of two teens, and writer since my school newspaper editor days. I grew up in a small town and now live in the suburbs of central Indiana.
Oltobooks : What are your ambitions for your writing career?
Dove Daniels : While the idea of being a full-time writer is lovely, I'm in a position where, as long as the writing is fun and the stories keep coming, I'll keep at it.
Oltobooks : When did you decide to become a writer?
Dove Daniels : I've been writing since high school. My author journey started in late 2013 under a different pen name. After six or seven years with that pen name, I opted to add writing short romance under this Dove Daniels pen name.
Oltobooks : Why do you write?
Dove Daniels : It's fun and I enjoy creating characters and giving them their happily ever after.
Oltobooks : What made you decide to sit down and actually start something?
Dove Daniels : When the characters and stories are in my head, I have to just sit down and get them out.
Oltobooks : Where do your ideas come from?
Dove Daniels : Mostly real life with inspiration from tropes in movies, TV, and books.
Oltobooks : What is the hardest thing about writing?
Dove Daniels : Getting eyes on your stories.
Oltobooks : What is the easiest thing about writing?
Dove Daniels : Moving characters to a happily ever after. That's why I love romance; I never have to wonder if they're going to work out :)
Oltobooks : If this book is part of a series, tell us a little about it?
Dove Daniels : All of my books, up to this point, are in "series" but they are standalone stories.
Oltobooks : What are your thoughts on writing a book series?
Dove Daniels : I find it easiest to write standalone titles and titles set in the same world, but with different characters. I don't really have the focus to stay with a couple over several books.
Oltobooks : What is your favourite positive saying?
Dove Daniels : "Have courage and be kind."
Oltobooks : Where can you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
Dove Daniels : I'd like to think I'll still be writing and hopefully more readers will have found my short, sweet, dirty, & flirty romance stories.
Oltobooks : What advice would you give to your younger self?
Dove Daniels : Don't worry about what others think. Be yourself.
I sat so merry in my abode
Loving hands around me
I dreamt of such glorious days
One day i would see
I remember the day I left
My room
I closed the door behind me
One quick look again
Then walked away
The room which would always remind me
The glorious days I had dreamt
I did merrily spent
How little did I then know
Life turns on a dime
My room is now not as it was
When I closed the door
Behind me
My room now is a prison
But not how one would invision
It is one of sorrow and grief
Sadness burns into the bare walls
I catch my breath
And weep
Why did thou'st doth betray?
The room which once embraced me
I ask with riddled heart
Jagged and torn
Which wicked riddles have I thus sought?
I sit still
I am now my room
No dreams as once before
I age before my open door
In my room long ago
I sat merrily in my loving abode
Loving hands did hold me
All gone
My room and myself
Now one
Two thrust to be together
Forever
Alone
